Saudi pump localization has a procurement date to plan around

For water-pump and water-valve manufacturers planning Saudi production, 1 August 2027 belongs in the investment timetable.

An LCGPA circular relayed by Asharqia Chamber announces that date for minimum local-content percentages in the Local Content Certificate for covered products on the Mandatory List. The same phase includes split air conditioners, copper wires and specified medical devices.

When scheduling a factory launch, identify the relevant product entry and certificate threshold. Then work back to the operations and evidence needed to qualify for that treatment in government procurement.

The circular says thresholds are subject to review. It also says the requirement does not apply retroactively to procurements launched before its effective date.

For a foreign manufacturer choosing the depth of Saudi production, this is a reason to assess the certificate requirements while deciding which operations to localize. Confirm the current product-specific threshold with LCGPA before relying on Mandatory List treatment in the sales forecast.
